Barton replaced two retractable rail shelters and two full-door-size dock shelters at a commercial warehouse in Modesto, California.

Rail-side loading openings need a different fit than a standard truck bay. On this Modesto warehouse project, Barton removed two existing retractable rail shelters and two existing full-door-size dock shelters, then installed two Marvel M800V-40-60 retractable rail shelters and two M700 full-door-size dock shelters.

The rail shelter shown here sits beside a rail spur and retracts back toward the building when it is not in use. That movement matters when the shelter needs to extend toward rail loading equipment, then return to a protected position against the building.

One close-up shows the worn shelter material documented during replacement. The spring-supported frame detail shows how the shelter extends toward the railcar opening and returns after loading.

For warehouses with truck bays, rail access, or both, Barton can inspect the opening and match the shelter to the way the dock is used. See our loading dock seals and shelters or commercial dock service.
