LiftMaster 98032 Heavy-Duty Wall-Mount Opener

The LiftMaster 98032 is the current heavy-duty residential wall-mount garage door opener. Its 24V DC jackshaft platform is UL 325 certified to lift compatible residential sectional doors from 400 to 1,100 pounds while freeing the ceiling from a conventional opener rail.

This is a residential opener, not a commercial door operator. Facilities and commercial doors need a separately rated LiftMaster commercial operator selected for the door, duty cycle, controls, and entrapment-protection requirements.

Heavy-door fit and operating range

• Published operating range of 400 to 1,100 pounds; it is not intended for doors below 400 pounds
• Standard-lift sectional doors up to 18 feet wide and 14 feet high
• Standard-lift profiles for 4-to-6-inch drums, with the allowed weight range determined by the exact drum profile
• Approved high-lift configurations with up to 84 inches of high lift and approved vertical-lift configurations
• High-lift and vertical-lift profiles using an 8-inch tapered drum are limited to 400 to 700 pounds
• Residential sectional doors with a 1-inch torsion shaft; not for extension springs, reverse-wound drums, or low-headroom track with an outside pickup drum

The door’s measured weight, balance, shaft movement, drum load rating, track geometry, spring condition, and installation clearances must all be checked before the 98032 is specified.

Warranty

LiftMaster publishes a lifetime motor warranty, 5-year parts warranty, and 1-year battery and accessory warranty for the 98032. The warranty is for qualifying residential use and depends on installation, operation, maintenance, and testing that follow LiftMaster’s requirements.

For a compatible residential door up to 850 pounds, compare the LiftMaster 98022 standard wall-mount opener. It uses a 12V DC platform and covers a wider range of ordinary residential RJO applications without the 98032’s 400-pound minimum.
